In celebration of Salem 400+, our 2026 poster recognizes Salem’s precolonial history and the people of Naumkeag by highlighting produce that they may have used and cultivated. The team at Mack Park Farm, Salem’s unique municipal food farm, has worked closely with Thomas Green of the Massachusett Tribe to identify varieties that may have been grown or traded by the Indigenous people who lived here.

Featured on this year’s poster are several special varieties that you’ll be able to find planted at Mack Park Farm this year – Boston Marrow Squash, Yellow Crookneck Squash, Otto File Flint Corn, and Succotash Beans.

The team at Mack Park Farm, Salem’s unique municipal food farm, has worked closely with Thomas Green of the Massachusett Tribe to identify varieties that may have been grown or traded by the Indigenous people who lived here.

The team at Mack Park Farm, Salem’s unique municipal food farm, has worked closely with Thomas Green of the Massachusett Tribe to identify varieties that may have been grown or traded by the Indigenous people who lived here.
