Community members are invited to learn and play the timeless tile game of Riichi (Japanese style) Mahjong from an experienced tournament player.  All supplies and teaching materials provided free of charge by the Riichi Mahjong Society of Massachusetts.  This is a program for all experience levels.

In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of Linocut. The class will cover the techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing.  At your own pace, participants will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools.  You will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand.  In a relaxed and welcoming environment, participants will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with others.  This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience.  This class is taught by Brooke Lambert, who is a professional printmaker and painter.

Looking for a new game most people have forgotten about?  Come learn how to play pool!  It's fun and little challenging.  You will learn how to play 8-ball and 9-ball and even a few "trick" shots.  You will learn the proper techniques of holding the cue stick, racking the balls, applying spin, strategy, and etiquette.  This program is open to teens and adults.

Celebrate the beauty of autumn by creating a one-of-a-kind fall seascape wreath on an 8" x 10" glass frame.  Using sea glass in rich greens, warm browns, and amber tones, along with shells, starfish and other coastal treasures, you will design your own wreath directly on the glass.   Once your design is complete, we'll seal everything with resin, giving your artwork a beautiful, glossy finish.
No experience is necessary, and you will be guided step by step through the entire process by local artist, Julie Gordon.  Your finished seascape wreath can be hung on a wall or placed in a window where the light can shine through the seas glass.  It's the perfect blend of coastal charm and cozy fall color and a beautiful addition to  your autumn decor.

Join us to shake up your writing soul!  If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you.  We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles.  The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you.  Our main goal is to write with gusto!  We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class.  You will need to bring a notebook and pen/pencil (computer if you prefer).

Join us to shake up your writing soul!  If you already love creative writing, or want to dive deeper into the craft, this course is for you.  We'll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles.  The takeaway can be a new piece you are proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others.You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry;whatever speaks to you.  Our main goal is to write with gusto!  We'll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class.  You will need to bring a notebook and pen/pencil (computer if you prefer).

Instructor Katie Lueders gravitated toward writing from an early age. She developed her own writing voice with a local group for years, continuing on to explore other workshops/classes in the Northeast.  In CA she served as the Workshop facilitator for an open mic poetry community for several years, also reading her poems on the mic often.Currently, Katie facilitates writing workshops around the Boston area, and looks forward to writing with others whenever possible.
